NetMedia are proud to announce the launch of our first ever viral advert, Perfect Parents Evenings, for the Parents’ Evening Booking System (www.parents-booking.com). The advert, which was shot on location at the University of Stirling and around the city of Stirling in Scotland, features Voodoo Unicycle’s Jason Auld riding to work on parents’ evening day. He and his colleague enjoy the time between school finishing and the arrival of parents because the software has taken care of all their preparation.
Sometimes it is nice to be able to shout about the positive news in your life. Here at the Parents’ Evening Booking System HQ, we’ve been very excited lately. We’ve been able to add a number of prestigious arts and independent schools to our list of customers and we simply can’t keep the news to ourselves any longer.
Last week The Brunts Academy, a leading specialist performing arts college (for whom double-Olympic gold medallist Rebecca Adlington is a member of the school’s alumni), joined our growing list of well-known, well-respected schools who have recently taken up the Parents’ Evening Booking System. This summer also saw the world-famous BRIT School (of whom Adele, Katie Melua and Kate Nash are alumni) join our ranks.
Both schools, along with the many others who have signed up this year, are now benefiting from the brand new use interface, connectivity and functionality which was added over the summer break.
One question which we are often asked by schools who have celebrity students is how secure the software is. The good news is that if your school needs a username and password login function, that’s no problem. Usually we have parents logging in using their child’s vital information and this is popular with most schools, but you’ll perhaps be glad to hear we can make security as simple or complicated as you like. Good news for all.
We use the parents’ evening online booking system and we have had very good feedback from parents and staff. The system allows parents to book appointments with staff online and lets teachers know what they want to discuss. Teachers and parents can view their appointments and print them out and admin staff can set up the system to suit the school and make/print appointments for parents who are unable to do this for themselves. Prior to this we have used appointment slips which pupils took to members of staff to fill in and this was far from ideal.I found it easy to administer and use and we have had very positive feedback from staff and parents. We will definitely be using it in the future.
A teaser of the new Parents’ Evening Booking System’s new design. This update will be rolled out in June 2012 so that schools have plenty of time before the new term to adjust.
At Netmedia, we make products which we hope will influence the world and effect change in a postive way, bringing technology to the fore and using it to simplfy tasks and make organisations more efficient.
The purpose of this blog will be to explain about our products, all new changes, provide tutorials and explain our musings and opinions on the sectors in which we operate.
For the time-being, we will concentrate on the Education sector. We currently produce and (along with our partners) sell two products to public and private schools all across the world. We have many customers in the UK where we are based but our products will be found in schools as far afield as Mexico, Bahrain and Singapore.
In case you are unaware, we produce a system which helps schools organise their Parents’ Evenings online (passing power of booking to parents) and another which helps schools organise all of their activities online, controlling sign-up, parental permission, co-ordination, communication and payment.
Look out for future updates - we plan to keep this pretty up-to-date!
